the pirate’s gospel (playlist)

Part sea-shanty, part rock-out-with-your-cock out, this is a playlist inspired by the wonder and ruthlessness of the sea.  The title track pirate’s gospel by adela diane sets the tone of this mix, but 300 pages by the balconies personifies the mood.  This playlist is perfect for someone who loves the ukelele, but appreciates a dark side to their music.  The songs speak to the themes of loss and longing, from laura marling‘s new romantic to blinding by florence & the machine.  It features my favourite song by the vancouver-based musical group the fugitives. You should check them – and the rest of the artists on the playlist – out! Feel free to download, there is a link at the bottom of this post. 🙂

Please support these artists by buying their music!  I think of these playlists as an opportunity to expose individuals to music they might not otherwise have listened to.  (So don’t sue me!)
